Our Proverbial Spring

Vernal Equinox is coming! On March 20th at 5:24pm EDT, we in the Northern Hemisphere will have officially entered into Spring! 🌷🌱

As a part of Nature, we are a part of Her cycles of death and rebirth. I personally find the season of Winter a time of sacred gestation that allows one to go into the infinite core of oneself. When we hold hopes and dreams for our own lives in the stillness of Winter, we metaphorically become “pregnant” much like a gestating mother, no matter what our gender identity. It is a time to reestablish one’s flame, to reassess what one has gained in the last year, and to let go of what isn't serving in order to create precious space for the new life being born from ourselves during the coming seasons of plenty.

Winter often has negative connotations due to the darkness it holds with decreased daylight and increased nighttime. Sometimes to do our healing in the proverbial “bear cave,” we need to go on deep dives in the dark, and Winter is the perfect time to do that. Winter brings in a potential to bring forth a new layer of authenticity and wonder into the external world as our own Spring commands. When we witness the rebirthing of Nature, we might be reminded of the power within us to also rebirth ourselves. You might ask yourself: What’s no longer serving me? What am I ready to let go of to make room for what’s coming? What goals, desires and dreams do I wish to bring forth in the coming year?

What has been germinating for you and what you can do to give birth to your own new landscape this year? Whatever you needed to let go of this past Winter will be the nourishing soil for what you give birth to in your own proverbial Springtime.
